The backstory for The Dog With The ? Tail begins the story of a dog with a very unique tail and is based on an actual dog named Canela, which means cinnamon in Spanish, though the dog’s name is not disclosed in the first story. The story is told from a child’s viewpoint and shows the effect on those around who witness this feature. Throughout the first story we are shown the dog’s influence on the adults and children who live in the city village but late in the first story we are also introduced to the dog’s companion, a kindly wizard that is also infatuated by the young dog’s appearance.

In the second tale, My Shady Lady, we are given background about the dog Canela, and shown more ability concerning the dog’s features, but this only leads to more questions about her true origins and motive in relation to the wizard. As the reader and child are mesmerized by the rhyming syntax, we see the wizard too is slowly gaining insight toward his canine companion as he sees her true intelligence come to light.

In the third and final tale, still to be written and titled, we get the surprise ending and also see how the wizard and dog came to be friends and who they escaped from. Though the first two stories are for children and done in rhyme, the third story may or may not be done in rhyme.

Actual pictures of Canela (and her question mark tail) will be supplied along with examples of the artwork to be used for the project. Each book is given a two month window for project completion.
